How to Make Money – Earn Passively With Affiliate Marketing

If you happen to read any other posts on my blog, you’ll quickly see that I’m a big fan of being able to make money by earning online as an affiliate.

Have you wondered why so many people would rather promote other peoples’ products to make money, earn passively and repeat the process over and over?

The truth is, most people dread the idea of having to sit down and write reports, record interviews, or shoot videos. Of course, most people are quite capable of doing so – it’s usually just a matter of having the proper mindset.

So, using affiliate marketing is a great way to bypass the whole product creation process and skip right to the marketing.

In the steps below, I’d like to walk you through joining your first affiliate program and getting setup for success. After reading this article, I encourage you to bookmark it to refer back to any time you need some direction.

Ready? Let’s get started!

Step #1 To Make Money, Earn Passively: Joining Your First Affiliate Network

If you’re reading this article on my blog, then you’ll already notice that I’m a part of the Empower Network affiliate program. There are several reasons I decided to join the Empower Network, but we’ll cover them in just a sec.

When considering your first affiliate network, it’s reasonable to guess you might still be slightly overwhelmed with all your options.

With that in mind, try to find an affiliate program that has both a collection of training materials-tutorial videos, FAQ guides, etc.-and helpful support staff.

The Empower Network, for example, hosts an ever-expanding library of audio that contains a powerful collection of interviews and training materials.

Dave Wood and Dave Sharpe, the founders of the program, are also available to guide members in the right direction.

In short, you want to find a program that is easy and comfortable for YOU.

Step #2 To Make Money, Earn Passively: Create Your Blog Or Website That’s Related To The Products You’re Promoting

While you can certainly do all your marketing from one single site, that’s not always the most practical way to do things.

To truly make money as an affiliate, you’ll want to promote a variety of different products and will sometimes do so in multiple markets. In that case, you wouldn’t want to promote something like dog collars and flat screen TVs on the same site.

The most popular platform for blogging, especially for marketers, is WordPress.

If your hosting account has a cPanel admin, you can use “Fantastico” to install WordPress in a few clicks.

Personally, until the blog I’m using now, I never really got into the whole blogging thing.

The “technical stuff” can sometimes be a pain and take way longer than necessary. In fact, I think many people fail to take any action because they let things like that get in their way.

Another reason I decided to join the empower network, was the fact that my membership included an already-made blog, customized for me with my affiliate links already in place.

Now, I’ve been blogging my thoughts, opinions and advice, ever since!

Even better:

Like I’ve mentioned before in another post, the Empower Network has gained as many as 400 new members in a single day…

Not only is that impressive in itself, it also means others are creating their own content. With so many people contributing, the major search engines pay a lot of attention to these blogs and rank content pretty quickly!

Step #3 To Make Money, Earn Passively: Create Content/Market Yourself

If you’re new to affiliate marketing, chances are you won’t want to get into paying for traffic right away. And you’re smart not to do so, since managing pay-per-click campaigns can confused even intermediate marketers.

Instead, you can create content related to what you’re promoting.

There are two ways to use your content:

1. Write the content and post it to your site to attract organic traffic for specific keywords. 2. Write content and submit it to article directories to rank your content even quicker (in most cases) and generate traffic through the sites themselves.

Really, your best bet is to do both…

Here are a few ideas you can use:

– Write reviews about the products you’re promoting… – Share your personal experience with the product(s)… – Teach others how to properly use what you’re promoting, to help them get the most out of their purchase… – Write editorial-style content to update buyers in your market about new products that have just been released…

Step #4 To Make Money, Earn Passively: Stay Consistent

Staying consistent is especially true for creating your content…

More than ever, search engines are putting a lot more value on sites that are regularly updated. Many affiliates used to be able to write a couple articles, rank their sites and let them sit, but those days are gone.

So to make the most out of your site, be sure to blog/write consistently.

I think “the Daves” had this in mind when they created the Empower Network…

The motto of the site is to “blog daily, tell others, make money!”

Step #5 To Make Money, Earn Passively: Consider How Much And How Easily You Will Be Paid

Finally, you’ll obviously want to take note of how much the products you’re promoting will make you.

Some programs pay extra to affiliates as they make more sales. Others simply pay a set percentage.

The Empower Network offers 100% commissions, which can be paid directly to your bank account or PayPal.

Final Thoughts To Make Money, Earn Passively…

We could sit and discuss all sorts of different ideas about affiliate marketing, but the most important thing you can do is to start taking action!

If you’ve been eager for your chance to make money online but lacked the tools or knowledge to do so, now is the perfect opportunity.

You can become a part of the Empower Network and join a massive community of people, just like you, that are already earning their share.
